Once the bait arrives, it will be your responsibility
to place it in your own container. If you’ve been using leeches
or crawlers for some time, you’ll know what to do. However,
here are some tips and tricks to help you out - just in case. Additionally,
your shipment will include a small sheet of paper including live
bait care instructions.
- Leeches should be removed from their shipping
container and placed in a live bait bucket of your choosing. You’ll
need to place them in fresh water.
- Be sure the water is chlorine and fluoride free.
- Check the temperature of the leeches, be sure not to shock them
by placing them in water that is TOO COLD. Drastic temperature
changes are hard on leeches. You’ll want to gradually lower
the temperature to ensure liveliness.
- Night Crawlers will do best if you add Peat Moss when the shipment
is received.
- If you keep Night Crawlers for 2 to 3 weeks, tansfer to fresh,
slightly dampened peat moss or Buss Worm Bedding.
- Should you use Buss Worm Bedding, please follow instructions
on the container.
- Store in shallow plastic or styrofoam containers and refrigerate
at 40 - 50 Degrees.
